I cut off my hair today... it's of the A-semetrical sorts now w/ babydoll bangs...blue and black... just wanted to try something new and it's so damn hot to have so much hair even if half of it was fake!
A lot of shit has been running through my head the last couple of days, both business and personal wise. Every road I choose has unexpected twists and turns and usually I got with it but now I have to make a solid decision.
What do I have to change to be the woman I need to be?
Answer: My attitude.
In a related issue...I want to talk to my grrrls. I get a lot of people tell me how lucky I am to know who I know and to have done what I have done...but here's a secret: I did it MY WAY.
Ladies, I'm going to give you 3 rules to live by if you're thinking about becoming a groupie or you want to feel special etc...
1. BE YOURSELF. Don't try to copy the pretty blonde girl with big jugs because you know what? She may get to fuck a "rockstar" but she won't be respected. She may seem beautiful but being a whore is NOT a redeeming quality!
2. WATCH YOUR BACK! Meaning...if you're at a show with a friend or by yourself and you're backstage... even your closest friend will turn on you just so she can feel special if said "rockstar" gives her the time of day. Groupies = Competition and if you're insecure enough to think you need to act, look, do certain things to get noticed then you're in the WRONG hobby.
3. DO NOT ROMANTICIZE ANYTHING. It may look shiny and happy and cool and you may say "damn Lisa you got to hang out with so-and-so you're so lucky!"... go watch the movie Almost Famous and multiply that by 3. It's not lucky that you get to see tons of sex, drugs, and behaviour that really isn't cool and can kill you. I don't care what you think you know until you get "in" with someone you won't see the reality of their lives*; and the reality is...you can't shine a turd.
* This includes me.
You need to be proud of you and what you have. A lot of you are young and I know you hate to hear it but it's called growing up. When you get to be 25, 26, 30... you'll look back and go "what the fuck was I thinking?" Trust me. I know, I've done it. I still do. You have to live each day in the present and take what comes at you with a grain of salt and maybe a shot of tequila. Find your own look, stop following the crowd and realize that it's your life not just an emotion or a situation...
Don't buy into the pressure that you have to look a certain way. It's bullshit. Photos can be touched up, makeup can be applied, and lights can be turned on/off. It's all fake. It might be beautiful but it's fake. Anyway I ramble but I leave you with this song by My Ruin:
